Occasionally, once you have installed the new batteries in your Anki car, you try it out and it just drives at full speed straight off the track.

Solution:

Its most likely because the speed controllers are not engaged properly.

The speed controllers are for each wheel and are the two small black U shapes on the circuit board, (see top photo) the two gear mechanisms in the car sit inside these and control the speed and the steering, the circuit board needs to be flush inside the body, don’t force these as it could be the wiring interfering.

If you open the car up, try recoiling the wires and tucking them in front of the battery before putting the cars back together so the board is perfectly flush with the top of the body (see bottom photo) and they should work perfectly.
